Sometimes cover songs are better than their predecessors.
Sometimes they fall short!

Let me know in the comments what you thought on these two!

For whatever reason "Born Villain" dropped by MANSON back in 2012 received So-So reviews and accolades and though "The Pale Emperor" is in the same vein many a folks are saying this is brings us back MARILYN MANSON. ROB ZOMBIE "Spookshow International Live"
Well it is official.
We are at the end of another year.
Seems like just yesterday we were looking forward to 2014.
Now we are gearing up for 2015.
We had a good time in ’14. We saw some great shows and had a lot of fun together.
Rockfest was once again a highlight for me. Getting all of you together to have a big party is one of my favorite things.
Pat yourselves on the back for not only throwing down for the party but also for watching out for each other. Every year I see someone getting helped up from the mosh or handed to security because (they may have partied a little too hard.) But you still take care of them. Thank you for being a classy group!
And let’s not forget Hope for the Holidays. To see an entire city pull together for the good of the city is an impressive thing.
I can’t wait to see how ’15 turns out for us. I hope it is as fun as ’14 was!
Finally I would like to say thank you.
I am humbled to be part of this station and city for 21 years.
I am honored to have become your friend.
Thank you Kansas City!
See ya in 2015!
What better way for the members of ANTHRAX to celebrate their sixth Grammy nomination than to toast it with a glass of their own brand of bourbon, "Indians".
ANTHRAX has aligned with Jefferson's Bourbon, the Kentucky-based company that produces special, limited edition "small batch" whiskeys by blending a variety of aged bourbons and rye whiskeys. ANTHRAX's "Indians", a single barrel bourbon, was personally chosen by the band and will taste like no other due to its particular blend and the barrel it was aged in.
"We've been wanting to come up with a special item like this, something that was unusual, one-of-a-kind, not a t-shirt or hoodie or poster," said bassist Frank Bello, "and 'Indians' was perfect."
ANTHRAX's "Indians" bourbon is now available exclusively through Atlantic City Bottle Company. "Indians" will be priced at $75 per bottle (in-store pick up) and $100 (shipped to an address) and will come with a signed piece of the stave of the barrel that the bourbon was aged in.
ANTHRAX — Bello, Charlie Benante, Scott Ian and Joey Belladonna — lifted their "Indians"-filled shot glasses last Friday when they found out that "Neon Knights", the band's cover of the BLACK SABBATH song (from SABBATH's 1980 release "Heaven And Hell") recorded for the "Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life" tribute album got the nod in the Grammy Awards "Best Metal Performance" category.
"It's been an honor everytime we've been nominated," said ANTHRAX's Benante, "but this one is particularly special. To have been asked to contribute 'Neon Knights' to Ronnie's tribute album was an honor on its own; to have it nominated for a Grammy is just beyond the best."
ANTHRAX has just gone into the studio to begin recording their next album, the follow-up to 2011's critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated "Worship Music".
So the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced today and many were shocked (myself included) to see GREEN DAY on that list. Are they RNRHOF worthy? Some would argue Yes, while others, clearly from internet postings, say NO! For me, I suppose, the hardest thing to understand is why they would be in their first year nominated. That's probably the most baffling.
Here's the list of others going in next year in Cleveland:
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN & DOUBLE TROUBLE
JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS
PAUL BUTTERFIELD BLUES BAND
THE "5" ROYALS - an early 50's/60's R&B band inducted as an Early Influence Award Winner
Now here's some who ARE NOT in the Rock Hall of Fame and based upon what's floating around the internet, many feel need consideration. What do you think?
That's a pretty high pedestal he's putting himself on coming on the heels of an album that is just BARELY over 30 mins....total - Westward
According to The Pulse Of Radio, SMASHING PUMPKINS frontman Billy Corgan blasted PEARL JAM and FOO FIGHTERS in a new interview with Howard Stern, saying that neither band matched the early '90s accomplishments of either the PUMPKINS or NIRVANA. About PEARL JAM, Corgan said, "I don't think they have the songs. I think you stack my songs up, [Kurt] Cobain's songs up and that band's songs up, they don't have the songs. They're a great band. Look, they're still an arena act. They've been getting it done for a long time and I have to bow to that."
Corgan said he was friendly with PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder at one point, but they haven't been social in years, explaining, "I haven't been in a social frame with the guy in I don't know how long but I think a lot of people are transformed by fame… You can't blame him. He was on the cover of Time magazine, not me, and dealt with a level of fame that I never dealt with, so I can't say what that feels like."
Corgan also had some choice words for FOO FIGHTERS, saying, "Dave [Grohl] is a great musician, a great songwriter and has done the work. To me, my criticism of the FOO FIGHTERS, if I'm being a music critic is that they just haven't evolved and that's sort of the recent rap on them is, you know, making the same music… Listen, he's getting it done so it's like, if you want to be competitive, my philosophy against his, he's winning."
The PUMPKINS founder recently said that he and Kurt Cobain were the top two songwriters of their generation, and that everyone else was a "distant third."
A new SMASHING PUMPKINS album, "Monuments To An Elegy", arrived on Tuesday (December 9).
