Hump Day Poll

Sadly our Chiefs were handed their first loss of the season against the Broncos BUT I don't think anyone out there figured us to be 9 and 1.

That being said, what do you think the final Win - Loss standings will be when the season is over?
Remember, they play a total of 16 games!

The results were all over the place!  Anywhere from 13-3 to 9-7!

It's Official!

Looking around online this morning I found this little tidbit.
Looks like a KC connection is not out of the question.
Check it out for yourself!

M

HINDER have officially parted ways with their lead singer, Austin Winkler.
Earlier this year, Winkler left the band's national tour due to personal reasons. HINDER continued to tour with guest lead vocalists helping out, including Jared Weeks from SAVING ABEL.
"I'm really proud of what we accomplished over the years," says HINDER drummer (and songwriter/producer) Cody Hanson. "We hold no animosity towards Austin, and wish him the best. Although it was a difficult decision, it was the best thing for everyone involved and time for us to move on"
He continued: "This summer/fall tour was a tough one.
"We want to thank the fans for all their overwhelming support. We couldn't have made it through everything without you.
"We are very excited about the future of HINDER and can't wait to share the next chapter with all of you!"
HINDER apparently wanted "American Idol" season seven winner David Cook to fill in temporarily for Winkler this past summer. HINDER manager Kevin "Chief" Zaruk told The Hollywood Reporter, "David Cook was at the top of our list." He added that season 10's James Durbin was also in the running, saying, "We would've loved to have either, but the timing didn't work out."

Cook turned down the offer in order to continue to work on his own music, but was said to have been "very interested" in the gig.
Zaruk also confirmed that Winkler had entered rehab for the second time in his career, saying, "We just want him to get healthy and get happy."

NEW MUSIC TA-TA-TADAY JR!

It’s looking like today is another one of those “Best Of” New Music Tuesday’s! Who all has “Best Of’s” out, great question let’s dive into it; NICKELBACK Those loveable, punchlineable, lads from Canada have a Best Of today. So does DAVID LEE ROTH! DLR’s probably looking to pad the wallet with the royalties he gets from VAN HALEN. A PERFECT CIRLCE has out “Three Sixty” greatest hits with a new song, the first in a decade, “By and Down”.  Not so much a “Best Of” but a full concert which typically means there’s a slew of hits played, RUSH has out “Clockwork Angels Tour” on CD, DVD & Blu-Ray.

Undoubtedly you all know FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has dropped Vol. 2 of “The Wrong Side of Heaven & the Righteous Side of Hell”. “Battle Born” has been doing well on the charts from that album, sitting strong as of this week at number 5.

There’s been something of a cult following for the Swedish occult rockers GHOST and today they’re putting out a, DAVE GROHL produced, covers EP “If You Have Ghost”. With songs by ROKY ERICKSON, ABBA, ARMY OF LOVERS, & DEPECHE MODE I can only imagine how this’ll sound.

Speaking of APC, as mentioned above, they’ve got a live work coming out “A Perfect Circle: Live featuring Stone & Echo” on the 26th BUT is streaming, in its entirety, here;  http://consequenceofsound.net/2013/11/stream-a-perfect-circles-new-live-album-stone-and-echo/

Big Shock?

Just found this story on TMZ and I get the point that MJ's side is trying to get to but I really dont think this comes as a shock to anyone.
Check it out!

M

Michael Jackson's people have just thrown Britney Spears, George MichaelVan Halen, Aerosmith and other big names under a big tour bus, because MJ's people have just labeled them hard-core drug abusers just to make a point in a lawsuit.

Here's the deal.  Lloyds of London has refused to pay  benefits under an insurance policy that AEG took out in case MJ was not able perform for the "This Is It" tour.  Lloyds rejected the claim on grounds Michael and AEG defrauded the company by failing to fess up that MJ was a drug abuser.

Now the bus.  The Michael Jackson Company (MJC) sued Lloyds, demanding payment.  MJC claims in public documents -- obtained by TMZ -- that a number of artists, including Britney, George, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Kings of Leon, AC/DCJohnny Hallyday and Whitney Houston all were known drug addicts and all of them applied for similar insurance to Lloyds.

MJC wants to see how the other rock stars were treated to determine if Michael is being singled out unfairly.

Short story -- to make their case, they're going to tar and feather every other rock star and act in sight.

News On Slipknot?

Found this today...
Check it out!

M

Asked about the progress of the songwriting sessions for SLIPKNOT's next album, Corey said: "We're just getting demos together right now, and [we're] hoping to get into the studio in the summer next year. So very soon we're gonna start having stuff to get out to the people."
Regarding how the new SLIPKNOT material is shaping up so far, Corey said: "It's very heavy. I mean, just based on the stuff that I've been demoing and the stuff that I've been working with [drummer] Joey [Jordison] on, it is, like… Honestly, it's like [2004's] 'Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)' meets [2001's] 'Iowa'. It's really dark, but there's some really good esoteric stuff to it, a lot of good melody without taking away from the heaviness. It's gonna be pretty rad."
Taylor told ARTISTdirect in a recent interview about SLIPKNOT's forthcoming fifth studio album: "The stuff I'm writing right now is really dark. The stuff Clown [Shawn Crahan, percussionist] is coming with is beyond. It's going to be cool to get the alchemists in the same room and see what happens."

Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio that the band is not setting any deadlines on itself for making the new disc. "Right now the only plan is go into the studio and see what happens," he said. "After that, it's up to us. But I mean, hopefully that tides everybody over, you know, just the fact that we are going to go into the studio and start seeing what we can see. 'Cause I know I've got some music that I've been working on, Joey's got a bunch of stuff, Jim's [Root, guitarist] got some stuff, Clown's always got a lot of really interesting musical ideas, so it'll be really cool to kind of see what happens."
The new SLIPKNOT album will be the band's first without bassist Paul Gray, another key member of the songwriting team who died of a drug overdose in May 2010.
Joey Jordison's side band, SCAR THE MARTYR, recently released its self-titled debut CD.
Taylor and Root have spent the last three years with STONE SOUR recording and touring behind three full studio records, 2010's "Audio Secrecy" and the double concept album "House Of Gold And Bones", which was released in two parts in 2012 and 2013.

First New Music Tuesday of November...

And by all accounts, it doesn't suck!!

**Let's jump right into it with a band we got to see last Friday at the Midland in LAMB OF GOD and they're 10th anniversary re-release of "As The Palace Burns". Anyone else's face still slightly melted from that show?

**VOLBEAT is putting out the Tour Edition CD (with bonus tracks) & Live DVD today of "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies". This is their latest album amped up on RnR steroids.

**KC's own TECH N9NE, who just played a show last week - also - at The Midland, has teamed up with legendary rock producer Ross Robinson to release the EP "Therapy".

**CREED's SCOTT STAPP has a solo work out with "Proof of Life".

**I also just found out, yesterday, - twas a brainfart - that NIRVANA''s "In Utero" will be out on vinyl for RECORD STORE DAY's BLACK FRIDAY, on the 29th of this month. I plan on snagging it as the newly remasterd and remixed version will be as close to how it was supposed to sound when the band's original producer, STEVE ALBINI, worked on it. No where near as polished as what we got 20 years ago!
