#AsHeardOnAir Danny Carey with Primus performing Tool

I'm being a bit hypocritical due to the fact I think it's ridiculous for people to pull out their cell phones and record a concert but I do like me some TOOL & DANNY CAREY & seeing him jam a little "AEnema" is pretty dope.
Still no word on when we'll get new Tool, so this'll have to do.

Ready for some new Five Finger?

The wait may be less than any of us ever expected.
Found this today.
Chack it out!

M

Las Vegas metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH have begun tracking brand new compositions for the follow-up to last year's two-album set, "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell".
"We're at the studio right now, and we're recording some new material," FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH drummer Jeremy Spencer told Artisan News earlier this month while promoting his autobiography, "Death Punch'd: Surviving Five Finger Death Punch's Metal Mayhem" (see video below). "And after we finish the [fall North American co-headlining] tour with VOLBEAT, we're gonna go back in and try to finish up everything in the winter and then get something out late spring [or] early summer."
He continued: "We've recorded four [songs so far]. I'm liking what I'm hearing, but there's a long way to go, so there's no… We haven't, like, 'Cool, these are four singles.' It's not… We'll judge the body of work when it's done."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's tour with VOLBEAT kicks off on September 16 in Salt Lake City.
The band will also appear at SLIPKNOT's Knotfest festival, scheduled for late October in San Bernardino, California.

Band Tee Shirts at Uproar Festival!

Great to see all those that came out Friday night for the Uproar Festival at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater aka Sandstone!! Many thanks to SEETHER & POP EVIL who swung by the broadcast deck for quick interviews. As soon as I can find that audio I'll make sure to put it up! Truth be told, I only saw SEETHER & GODSMACK in action since I was on air till seven and got caught chatting it up with some listeners thus didn't see SKILLET in action.

Some feel Sully, frontman for the SMACK, has a little attitude problem. That he can, from time-to-time, be a bit of a dick, but there's no denying that he's a big talent on stage. He's got mad skills and put them to use, tequila be damned, when singing, jamming the guitar and then - as we've seen - a drum off with Shannon. It's a huge production, complete with pyro and all in attendance seemed to enjoy what they saw!

SEETHER also brought it. In the past we've seen the top of frontman Shaun Morgan's head due to him staring at his shoes whilst playing, perhaps giving the impression he wasn't happy with the audience or himself but this time around all four bandmates, yes there's a fourth dude now, poured their heart out and in my humble opinion stole the show.

I did have some fun playing a little game with myself when I was broadcasting called "Band Tee Shirts That Came Out To Rock"... or something. Without further delay here's the bands I saw Friday night, as represented by the tee shirts they were sported on.

JOHNNY CASH (worn by me ) * GODSMACK * JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS
SLIPKNOT * LYNYRD SKYNYRD * RISE AGAINST * MISFITS * POP EVIL
SICK PUPPIES * ROLLING STONES * ROCKFEST (Originals & Bootlegs)
SLAYER * SHINEDOWN * AVENGED SEVENFOLD * STONE SOUR
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS * DISTRUBED * SLASH * KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
SEETHER * COHEED & CAMBRIA * ROB ZOMBIE * FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH
BLACK SABBATH * GWAR * OF MICE & MEN * BLACK SABBATH * DYING FETUS
PIERCE THE VEIL * RAMONES * STEEL PANTHER * NIRVANA
BON JOVI * BOB MARLEY * DEVIL DRIVER * METALLICA *
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY * THE CULT * ROLLING STONES * INSANE CLOWN POSSE
SUICIDE SILENCE * OZZY * MOTLEY CRUE * PANTERA * NINE INCH NAILS
PANTERA * SUBLIME * PINK FLOYD * KORN * SKILLET * 7 SECONDS * IRON MAIDEN
And this Asshole wore this, of course!

New Music Tuesday... on Wednesday!

Given that Monday was Labor Day, and not much surfaced yesterday, I'm a day off on this blog about all the new jams out. However, much chatter was had about all the new music coming out later on this year! Canadian Rockers (P. Griffin "Canada Sucks") NICKLEBACK will be putting out their latest effort, "No Fixed Address" on November 4th. We've already got the first single in "Edge of a Revolution"

Depending on who you talk with ED KOWALCZYK got fired from/left the band LIVE in 2009. Shortly after CHRIS SHINN took over on vox duties playing various clubs, bars, State Fairs and even your backyard if you came up with enough cash. Now, it seems, LIVE are set to step back into new album territory with an October 28th release of "The Turn". A new single, video & tour dates are to be expected soon.

It's been 18 years since we heard anything new from FAITH NO MORE (June 3rd 1997's "Album of the Year") and the Rock Gods have heard the pleads and begging from fans the world-over as FNM shall return with a new disc in April of 2015. FAITH fans can have their hunger satisfied, briefly, in November when the band puts out a limited edition 7-inch single for RECORD STORE DAY'S BLACK FRIDAY event on the 28th. One of my favorite jams from FAITH NO MORE!

You, also, gotta love a band that can cover LIONEL RICHIE!

Just read the other day that POP EVIL will be reissuing a BEST BUY exclusive of their latest "Onyx" on the 23rd of this month. "Deal with the Devil" recorded at our ROCFEST (#ROCKFESTKC), an alternative version of "Beautiful", "Trenches" featuring DMC (of RUN DMC) and a sting mix of "Torn to Pieces" will be on the repackaged disc.

ICYMI

As mentioned in last week's WEEKLY ROCK WIND UP

** BUTCHER BABIES are putting out an EP of covers titled "Uncovered".

** ALL THAT REMAINS have wrapped up their latest work expected out late 2014/early 2015

** SLIPKNOT will put out their first offering sans PAUL GRAY & JOEY JORDINSON ".5 The Gray Chapter" on October 21st.

** IRON MAIDEN are putting out classic 80's vinyl reissues. The albums will be released in chronological order over a two-month period starting October 14th with "Iron Maiden", "Killers" & "The Number of the Beast". Then we'll see, October 28th, "Piece of Mind", "Powerslave", and "Live after Death" followed by "Somewhere in Time" and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" on November 25th. There's also to be corresponding seven-inch singles with each release.

**SLAYER is in studio working on new material, hopefully, to be release in 2015 without DAVE LOMBARDO on drums and the first album without co-founder Jeff HANNEMAN on guitar.

** And according to AC/DC drummer PHIL RUDD it only took the band 10 days to record their new album. No release date has been given.

** I'd be remised if I didn't mention the lovable lads in PSYCHOSTICK are working on a new album. One that frontman RAWRB says is, "Probably my favorite album we've made yet."
