Royals are in the World Series & It's New Music Tuesday!

In the annals of music in America today, and given it's New Music Tuesday, there are many audiophiles who have been waiting on pins & needles for an album release of which many feared would not occur. A band whose legacy and body of work has progressed over time and yet is as fresh sounding now as it was then. YES, I'm talking about brand, spanking new BUSH "Man on the Run". Working with acclaimed producer Nick Raskulinecz we shall see if they capture the lightning in a bottle that was their debut album back in 1994 "Sixteen Stone".
SLIPKNOT also has a new disc out, ".5 The Grey Chapter". They'll also be in town, in support of the new album, the night before Thanksgiving at the Sprint Center with KORN & KING 810.
Classic Rock juggernauts ALICE COOPER and DEEP PURPLE have out live DVD today's. Cooper with "Raise the Dead: Live from Wacken" and Purple with "Live in Verona".

That's Just Dumb.

Flipping though TMZ this morning I find this story.
Not sure what Slipknot is thinking but I am glad this got shot down!

Read on and see what you think.
M

Slipknot's plan to stink up a music festival ... BY SETTING CAMEL DUNG ON FIRE ... just went down the toilet -- fire officials have officially pulled the plug.

The metal band had plans to fill drums with camel poop and oil ... then set them ablaze during its 3-day Knotfest Music Festival later this month in San Bernardino. The band's burning desire was for the stench to "infest your brain, body and clothes for days."

Naturally, county fire officials ain't having it -- but their beef isn't with the camel feces ... it's the burning oil ... which is illegal in Cali. Also, they say the odor of flaming feces could be considered a public nuisance. Ya think?

Bottom line -- the show will go on ... sans burning poo. A rep for Knotfest says they haven't given up yet ... they're looking for a safer way to get that camel s**t scent.

M

SIXX: A.M., the band featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx alongside guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael, will embark on its first headlining tour in April 2015. Support on the trek will come from Finnish cello rockers APOCALYPTICA.

"Fans have been asking for years, 'When is SIXX: A.M. gonna tour?' and we've finally announced our first headline tour," Sixx said. "We can't wait to play these songs live and put on a rock extravaganza for our fans. We're excited to announce that we're bringing along APOCALYPTICA as special guest because we are fans of their music and think this is going to be an amazing night of music from beginning to end."

"For three records now we have been envisioning what a SIXX: A.M. headlining tour would look and feel like," Michael added. "We are so excited to finally be bringing these songs to life."

The dates are as follows:

April 10 - Las Vegas, NV - The Joint @ Hard Rock Hotel / Casino
April 11 - Los Angeles, CA - Club Nokia
April 13 - Denver, CO - Ogden Theatre

An AMEX presale begins October 8 at 10 a.m. and runs until October 9 at 10 p.m. Local presales launch October 9 at 10 a.m. and conclude October 10 at 10 a.m. General onsales start October 10 and October 11 at 10 a.m.

SIXX: A.M.'s new album, "Modern Vintage", was released on October 7 via Eleven Seven Music. The band celebrated the CD release by playing its first full live show since 2009 the same night. The performance took place at the iHeart Theater in Burbank, California. The show, as well as a question-and-answer session with the band about the new album, its influences and the band's future plans was broadcast exclusively live on iHeartRadio and select Clear Channel radio stations.

Joining Sixx, Ashba and Michael for the Burbank performance was drummer Jeff Fabb (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, IN THIS MOMENT). Ashba told Legendary Rock Interviews about Jeff: "[He is the] same guy who played drums on the 'Modern Vintage' album. He is an incredible drummer. It was a lot of fun to work with him and we were really happy to have him on the record. He agreed to come in and do the show with us, which just makes sense."

According to Ashba, "Modern Vintage" marks the first time SIXX: A.M. has used a live drummer on one of its albums, having previously relied solely on programmed drums while in the recording studio. "It was the first album where we actually felt it was important to capture that big album vibe we were going after," he explained. "To bring in a live drummer, it really made a huge difference, you know; it gave the whole entire album and songs a new breath of fresh air, which was really cool."

NeW mUsIc TuEsDaY!

Given that I'm gone on Thursday & Friday, today is kinda my Wednesday.
If that makes any sense. Let's take a look at New Music Tuesday!!
"Gotta Get It Right" was the first track we heard off SIXX A.M.'s new disc "Modern Vintage" and if all the other tunes are remotely close to that this album will be the most polarizing we've heard in a while!
There's absolutely no denying that fans of TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION view themselves as a tight-knit group or clan. Along the same lines as BLACK LABEL SOCIETY but maybe even closer akin to a motorcycle club, so I suspect they've all already pre-ordered THC's 4th album "Ride On". Fritz played me the first single a few weeks back, "Monster in Me" and we both we impressed by the bluesy jam. Perhaps this will be what the Coalition needs to truly push them into the mainstream.
The cash-cow that is OZZY OSBOURNE looks to cash in on a lifetime's worth of success with the releasing of "Memoirs of a Mad Man" where one will find a compilation of best of music from "Blizzard of Ozz", "Diary of a Madman", "Bark at the Moon", "The Ultimate Sin", "No Rest for the Wicked", "No More Tears", "Ozzmosis", "Down to Earth", "Black Rain", & "Scream". On top of the CD, there's two DVD's. One all music videos, the second live performances recorded in Rochester New York, Albuquerque New Mexico, Philadelphia & Kansas City, just to name a few, spanning from 1981 all the way up to 2010.

On the memoir side today; BILLY IDOL has out his autobio "Dancing With Myself", covering his life & times in Rock & Punk, drug use & where he's at now!
Here's what I've read about coming down the pike:

* STONE SOUR is working on a covers album
* AEROSMITH singer STEVEN TYLER is working on a solo album
* At some point we might see new BIOHAZARD
