Jeremiah was born with Spina Bifida in 2008 and orphaned in Northern China. After experiencing the first few years of life and several surgeries alone, a family in Kansas City has chosen to adopt Jeremiah. We are all so excited and can't wait for Matt and Amy Mangels to bring Jeremiah HOME to Kansas City!!!!
RIDE FOR ADOPTION was created to help raise orphan awareness as well as a fundraiser for the adoption of Jeremiah.
Adoption is very near and dear to the whole Mangels' family and we would like to make this ride the FIRST ANNUAL RIDE FOR ADOPTION in an effort to help other families financially with their adoption, and in doing so, give other children like Jeremiah a chance to have a forever family.

NorthCare is a non-profit organization that offers physical, mental, emotional and spiritual care to adults in the greater Kansas City area who receive a life prognosis of six months or less and are no longer seeking curative treatment. Services continue beyond the life of the hospice patient and provide 13 months of bereavement support to the friends and families of deceased patients, including home visits, educational materials, community support groups and special services for grieving children
In 2013 NorthCare provided over $480,000 of charitable care to residents in the greater Kansas City area. This Ride is to raise money so that NorthCare Hospice can continue to provide services to patients who would otherwise go without the care that would keep them comfortable in the critical last days of their life. This service not only impacts the patient but also the friends and family in our community who endure the end of life journey with them.
