Dear Johnny,

My name is Jenni, I am married with 2 daughters, ages 3 and 7. This past September I took my husband to the emergency room because I believed he was having a stroke. It turns out he has a very large tumor in the middle of his brain. It is 7cm by 4cm that sits between both frontal lobes. It is a benign tumor but it has really taken a toll on my husbands brain.  Everything has been a blur since we found out. He had to have surgery almost immediately. The surgery did not go as we planned. He was basically in a coma unable to move his body or communicate with us.  Before surgery you wouldn't even know something was wrong. He was completely "normal" aside from headaches and anxiety. The surgeon was not able to get the whole tumor. We are waiting on our next course of action.

He was in the ICU for almost a month, then transferred to a Long Term Acute Hospital for 3 weeks. He has been doing therapy in a rehab hospital to gain back his mobility, but because of swelling in his brain from surgery, and the location of the tumor, it is going to be months before we see
significant improvement.

I am currently working all the hours I can, but the bills don’t stop coming in.  it is possible he could come home in the next few weeks, but I am nervous for our future and the girls.  They miss their daddy so much.  One day our life was perfect, then the next day our world was turned upside down.  We re so very grateful my husband has survived and is getting a second chance at life

Thank you for listening and Merry Christmas
Jenni
