But They Made It!

I have been a KISS fan all my life and was so pleased to hear they made it but for many years I have really put little stock into the "Hall Of Fame."
Too many non rock bands make it in then I read the treatment to a true Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band...
Read for yourself.
M

KISS frontman Paul Stanley has slammed Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame co-founder and Rolling Stone editor Jann Wenner as a "spineless weasel," claiming that the guitarist/vocalist and the rest of the band were treated like "uninvited guests" during Thursday night's (April 10) induction ceremony.

"Our treatment at the [Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame] confirmed my worst suspicions," Stanley fumed via Twitter. "Wenner and the rest are spineless weasels." He went on to say that the people behind the Rock Hall gave the members of KISS "no passes" or "schedule" for the evening, but didn't elaborate on what exactly he was referring to. He concluded: "We were great and [Wenner] remains a small man."

Stanley's bandmate, KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons, also took a couple of shots at Rolling Stone on Twitter, mocking the magazine's original critical review of LED ZEPPELIN's first album, writing "Rolling Stone. Idiots then. Idiots now." He then posted a link to a video from the early 1970s band CHRISTOPHER MILK, which featured John Mendelsohn, the writer who penned the negative reviews that appeared in Rolling Stone of each of the first two LED ZEPPELIN LPs.

Stanley ended his Hall Of Fame speech on Thursday by calling the evening "vindication" for the fans. He also took a dig at the Hall Of Fame by saying, "The people, I believe, are speaking to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and what they're saying is, 'We want more.' They deserve more. They want to be a part of the induction. They want to be a part of the nomination. They don't want to be spoon-fed by a handful of people. Choices. The people pay for tickets. The people buy albums. The people who nominate do not. Let's not forget that these are the people that make it all possible. We just benefit from it."

KISS did not perform at the ceremony — the Hall Of Fame wanted the original quartet only to play, while Simmons and Stanley insisted on the current lineup performing as well. In the end nobody won that battle.

The 29th annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony was taped and will air on May 31 on HBO.

Grammy Awards Last Night.

I have to admit I am not a huge fan of award shows anymore. I guess it is because none of the bands I like win and the bands that do win really confuse me...
I did watch a bit last night and got to see Metallica with the classical guy.
Also the NIN, Butch Walker, and Dave Grohol piece was cool but other than a white kid winning best Rap award I was not supprised to see not many others I knew.
On a totally different note.... WHOS READY FOR ROCKFEST?

What's Next?

So I am not a huge ICP fan (Cotton Candy was the best stripper song ever) but I saw this on TMZ and could not help but share.
I have to side with ICP on this one.
Check it out!

M

The Insane Clown Posse is OUTRAGED the Federal Government has labeled their followers as a dangerous gang ... so now they've filed a lawsuit, demanding the Feds take back what they said.

ICP claims a 2011 FBI report -- which referred to Juggalos as a "loosely organized hybrid gang" -- wrongly characterizes their fans as violent lawbreakers ... and has led to unwarranted harassment of their fans by law enforcement.

In addition to ICP members Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, several fans are also party to the suit, and they cite several examples during which they were allegedly subjected to such harassment.

One fan says he's been stopped multiple times by cops because of his ICP clothing. Another says he was forced to remove his Juggalo tattoos in order to enlist in the military.

ICP admits some of their fans have broken the law in the past, but they insist "it is wrong to designate the entire group of supporters as a criminal gang based on the acts of a few." During a news conference, Shaggy 2 Dope said, "We're not a gang. We're a family."

ICP says the FBI report violates their constitutional right to free speech as well as their right to associate with whoever they want. They want the Feds to stop with the gang talk once and for all.

Thank You!

Well it is official. We made it another year!
As we wrap up 2013 and look forward to 2014 I have to kick back and think of all the fun we had.
From the Low Dough’s to the Harley giveaway!
Sold out Rockfest, Freakers, and Twisted shows.
And the 20 year anniversary of the JDMS!
Because of you we also pulled off some really big charity events as well!
From the JDRF Thunder Run to Bikers for Babies.
And because of you we got our good friend Don Post the Humanitarian of the Year award from NASCAR.
I could spend the entire day listing off all of the stuff we have done together this year but I will spare you that.
Mainly I just want to say thank you.
January of 2014 will mark my 20 year affiliation with The Rock (I did have my 2 years break while I was in South Carolina) but here I am still.
When I started this business and got my first shot at working here I fully expected to be in Kansas City two maybe three years max (that is just the way radio works) but I am still here and can say with all honesty that this has truly become my home.
I have made some truly fantastic friends over the year and have had the opportunity to see individuals grow together as a family. Not just us as a staff but you have become part of our fun dysfunctional family.
Listening to Hope For The Holidays this year once again made that obvious as I would hear you calling in to help families that you did not know and may never even meet.
Kansas City, pat yourself on the back. You are truly a good group of people and I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to spend time with you and become friends with many of you along the way.
I have so much more to say but as I write this from the heart I realize I am tossing all the punctuation and stuff out the window (I am sure my wife’s head is spinning because of it) but when you are on a roll you are on a roll!
I better wrap this up but from the bottom of my heart thank you for letting me be part of your life for all these years!
Humbly Yours,
MOOSE

And here’s to 2014!

It's Official!

Looking around online this morning I found this little tidbit.
Looks like a KC connection is not out of the question.
Check it out for yourself!

M

HINDER have officially parted ways with their lead singer, Austin Winkler.
Earlier this year, Winkler left the band's national tour due to personal reasons. HINDER continued to tour with guest lead vocalists helping out, including Jared Weeks from SAVING ABEL.
"I'm really proud of what we accomplished over the years," says HINDER drummer (and songwriter/producer) Cody Hanson. "We hold no animosity towards Austin, and wish him the best. Although it was a difficult decision, it was the best thing for everyone involved and time for us to move on"
He continued: "This summer/fall tour was a tough one.
"We want to thank the fans for all their overwhelming support. We couldn't have made it through everything without you.
"We are very excited about the future of HINDER and can't wait to share the next chapter with all of you!"
HINDER apparently wanted "American Idol" season seven winner David Cook to fill in temporarily for Winkler this past summer. HINDER manager Kevin "Chief" Zaruk told The Hollywood Reporter, "David Cook was at the top of our list." He added that season 10's James Durbin was also in the running, saying, "We would've loved to have either, but the timing didn't work out."

Cook turned down the offer in order to continue to work on his own music, but was said to have been "very interested" in the gig.
Zaruk also confirmed that Winkler had entered rehab for the second time in his career, saying, "We just want him to get healthy and get happy."
