Well it is official.
We are at the end of another year.
Seems like just yesterday we were looking forward to 2014.
Now we are gearing up for 2015.
We had a good time in ’14. We saw some great shows and had a lot of fun together.
Rockfest was once again a highlight for me. Getting all of you together to have a big party is one of my favorite things.
Pat yourselves on the back for not only throwing down for the party but also for watching out for each other. Every year I see someone getting helped up from the mosh or handed to security because (they may have partied a little too hard.) But you still take care of them. Thank you for being a classy group!
And let’s not forget Hope for the Holidays. To see an entire city pull together for the good of the city is an impressive thing.
I can’t wait to see how ’15 turns out for us. I hope it is as fun as ’14 was!
Finally I would like to say thank you.
I am humbled to be part of this station and city for 21 years.
I am honored to have become your friend.
Thank you Kansas City!
See ya in 2015!
What better way for the members of ANTHRAX to celebrate their sixth Grammy nomination than to toast it with a glass of their own brand of bourbon, "Indians".
ANTHRAX has aligned with Jefferson's Bourbon, the Kentucky-based company that produces special, limited edition "small batch" whiskeys by blending a variety of aged bourbons and rye whiskeys. ANTHRAX's "Indians", a single barrel bourbon, was personally chosen by the band and will taste like no other due to its particular blend and the barrel it was aged in.
"We've been wanting to come up with a special item like this, something that was unusual, one-of-a-kind, not a t-shirt or hoodie or poster," said bassist Frank Bello, "and 'Indians' was perfect."
ANTHRAX's "Indians" bourbon is now available exclusively through Atlantic City Bottle Company. "Indians" will be priced at $75 per bottle (in-store pick up) and $100 (shipped to an address) and will come with a signed piece of the stave of the barrel that the bourbon was aged in.
ANTHRAX — Bello, Charlie Benante, Scott Ian and Joey Belladonna — lifted their "Indians"-filled shot glasses last Friday when they found out that "Neon Knights", the band's cover of the BLACK SABBATH song (from SABBATH's 1980 release "Heaven And Hell") recorded for the "Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life" tribute album got the nod in the Grammy Awards "Best Metal Performance" category.
"It's been an honor everytime we've been nominated," said ANTHRAX's Benante, "but this one is particularly special. To have been asked to contribute 'Neon Knights' to Ronnie's tribute album was an honor on its own; to have it nominated for a Grammy is just beyond the best."
ANTHRAX has just gone into the studio to begin recording their next album, the follow-up to 2011's critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated "Worship Music".
Guess we can put ths story in the "Awwwwwww" file.

SLAYER's publicist Heidi Robinson-Fitzgerald released the following statement to Nuvo.net: "[The night of December 3, SLAYER guitarist] Kerry [King] and some of the crew went to dinner at Kerry's favorite steak house in Indy, St. Elmo's Steak House. Afterwards, the assistant tour manager, Jess [Cortese] saw a homeless man on the street who offered up this little kitten for a dollar. The kitten apparently was freezing so Jess took it, slept with her in her bunk on the bus and went to the venue with her today, hanging out. One of the runners knew someone who wanted a kitten, so the little guy now has a new home where he or she currently is."
The cat's new owner later posted a photo of the cat on the Old National Centre Facebook page, saying, "Here she is! I named her Gypsy! I gave her a bath last night then she slept for 5 hours on the heating pad. She's at the vet this morning being treated for fleas and worms. Thank you SLAYER for your act of kindness and thank you."
SLAYER is currently touring North America with support from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and EXODUS.
MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson, who designed and developed the ale with Martyn Weeks, the chief brewer at Robinsons, said cans have advantages over bottles.
"Firstly, cans are easier to recycle, require less packaging, get colder quicker and take up less space in your fridge," he said.
"Secondly, cans don't break or smash, meaning they can be taken to venues, sporting events, campgrounds, beaches, and music festivals, where glass is not typically allowed.
"Thirdly, aluminium cans are excellent protection against light and oxygen - beer’s biggest enemies, so your drink tastes fresher longer.
"Done right, they’re great for our beer.”
300,000 Trooper cans will be made available in the U.S. beer market from January 2015.
The Trooper beer was launched in May 2013 and has sold more 5 million pints, with almost half of it brewed for the export market (Trooper is currently distributed in 40 countries).
Dickinson said: "When asked if we wanted to enter into a partnership with the respected Robinsons Brewery to design and brew a real ale for ourselves and our fans, we leapt at the chance.
"What has been particularly encouraging, over and above the international sales success and even over the tremendous reaction from our fans, is how it has been so warmly welcomed by serious beer aficionados outside the IRON MAIDEN community.
"As a dedicated ale drinker myself, I was very aware of the many great beers available and the extremely high level of competition we faced."
Not sure if you had heard about this yet.

The man who was reportedly approached about killing two people by AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has described the musician as a "good fella," but denied knowing anything about the murder-plot allegations. Ruddwas arrested by New Zealand police and charged with attempting to procure a murder. Rudd also faces charges of possessing the drugs methamphetamine and cannabis, and of threatening to kill. Rudd's home in New Zealand was raided by police on Thursday morning (November 6) and the 60-year-old drummer was taken to court, where he entered no plea to the charges later that afternoon. He was released on bail and will reappear in court on November 27. Rudd is alleged to have tried to hire a hitman to kill two men. Their names and that of the intended hitman were not released to the media. If convicted, Rudd faces a maximum of 10 years in jail.
The alleged events reportedly took place between September 25 and September 26.
The alleged intended hitman befriended Rudd after meeting him when he ran a parlor in Tauranga. The man, who said police called him yesterday morning to inform him of Rudd's arrest, told the Bay Of Plenty Times the drummer would often let him drive his cars and would take him on trips in his helicopter or they would go fishing together.
However, as of late, Rudd had become irritable and was doing things that were negatively affecting his long-term relationships.
"He's burning the ones who care about him," the man said.
"The joys of being a rock star, always in the spotlight," he added. "You've got to feel sorry for him — just the expectations everyone has of him. He's a good fella. He's got a big heart."
When asked about murder-plot allegations, the man replied: "I don't know what you're talking about."
Flipping though TMZ this morning I find this story.
Not sure what Slipknot is thinking but I am glad this got shot down!
Read on and see what you think.
Slipknot's plan to stink up a music festival ... BY SETTING CAMEL DUNG ON FIRE ... just went down the toilet -- fire officials have officially pulled the plug.
The metal band had plans to fill drums with camel poop and oil ... then set them ablaze during its 3-day Knotfest Music Festival later this month in San Bernardino. The band's burning desire was for the stench to "infest your brain, body and clothes for days."
Naturally, county fire officials ain't having it -- but their beef isn't with the camel feces ... it's the burning oil ... which is illegal in Cali. Also, they say the odor of flaming feces could be considered a public nuisance. Ya think?
Bottom line -- the show will go on ... sans burning poo. A rep for Knotfest says they haven't given up yet ... they're looking for a safer way to get that camel s**t scent.

SIXX: A.M.'s new album, "Modern Vintage", was released on October 7 via Eleven Seven Music. The band celebrated the CD release by playing its first full live show since 2009 the same night. The performance took place at the iHeart Theater in Burbank, California. The show, as well as a question-and-answer session with the band about the new album, its influences and the band's future plans was broadcast exclusively live on iHeartRadio and select Clear Channel radio stations.
Joining Sixx, Ashba and Michael for the Burbank performance was drummer Jeff Fabb (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, IN THIS MOMENT). Ashba told Legendary Rock Interviews about Jeff: "[He is the] same guy who played drums on the 'Modern Vintage' album. He is an incredible drummer. It was a lot of fun to work with him and we were really happy to have him on the record. He agreed to come in and do the show with us, which just makes sense."
According to Ashba, "Modern Vintage" marks the first time SIXX: A.M. has used a live drummer on one of its albums, having previously relied solely on programmed drums while in the recording studio. "It was the first album where we actually felt it was important to capture that big album vibe we were going after," he explained. "To bring in a live drummer, it really made a huge difference, you know; it gave the whole entire album and songs a new breath of fresh air, which was really cool."
The wait may be less than any of us ever expected.
Found this today.
Chack it out!
Las Vegas metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH have begun tracking brand new compositions for the follow-up to last year's two-album set, "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell".
"We're at the studio right now, and we're recording some new material," FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH drummer Jeremy Spencer told Artisan News earlier this month while promoting his autobiography, "Death Punch'd: Surviving Five Finger Death Punch's Metal Mayhem" (see video below). "And after we finish the [fall North American co-headlining] tour with VOLBEAT, we're gonna go back in and try to finish up everything in the winter and then get something out late spring [or] early summer."
He continued: "We've recorded four [songs so far]. I'm liking what I'm hearing, but there's a long way to go, so there's no… We haven't, like, 'Cool, these are four singles.' It's not… We'll judge the body of work when it's done." FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's tour with VOLBEAT kicks off on September 16 in Salt Lake City.
The band will also appear at SLIPKNOT's Knotfest festival, scheduled for late October in San Bernardino, California.
Well after going to Motley shows for 28 years I think I may have seen my last one.
I know they are going to be in Nebraska in November but I don’t think I could top this last one.
I have seen Motley from the rafters, to the floor, and snuck my way up to front row many times. (I am not very sneaky I think the security guys just looked the other way.)
I have snagged may cool items over the years. From picks, drum heads, and got a Jager bottle from Tommy a few years ago.
Nikki has spat blood on me, Vince and sweated on me, and I have smelled fresh brewed coffee on Mick as they came out for an encore.
I have had the opportunity to meet the band many times and I can say that for the most part they are a good bunch of dudes.
As a 16 year old kid seeing them (from the nose bleeds) in Iowa (never imagining I would meet them) to getting into radio and seeing them front row and meeting them. Seeing them has given me an opportunity to flashback to those pimple faced fun days.
I know I have turned this into a long story but Motley has been such a big part of my life I just feel a little sad knowing it is over.
I have so many more stories of my Motley fun but I will wrap it up for now.
Till next time!
You know I'm a dreamer
but my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
so I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
just take this song, and you'll never feel
left all alone...
